Leadership

Pastor Brenda came to Rupert UMC in September 2022, after serving eight years at Hillview UMC in Boise, and nine years at Trinity UMC in Idaho Falls. She served churches in Oregon, England, and Illinois before moving to Idaho. She has degrees from Syracuse University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU, and a graduate certificate in conflict management from Boise State University. Brenda has four adult children who all live in the Boise area.

Joyce has been the Administrative Assistant of Rupert UMC since May of 2023.  She has 20+ years of experience doing secretarial and administrative work in several states including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado and Idaho. She worked as the Administrative Assistant for St. Luke’s Episcopal church in Idaho Falls in 2005-2006. Joyce returned to Idaho in October 2017 and has had hopes of serving in her “dream job” as a church secretary again some day.  Joyce gladly accepted the opportunity to work at Rupert UMC and loves her job. It truly is a “dream job”.

Sara Somsen-Fowler is a full time cattle rancher; she divides her time between her family's rotational properties and she hopes to continue the tradition for generations to come. Sara has had music in her life from the time she can remember, but her formal training started in junior high when a scheduling mixup resulted in her jumping to the choir class instead of band. After high school a music scholarship lead her to Idaho State University where she completed a music minor in voice before transferring to Utah State University in 2013. After graduating in 2016 with a degree in animal science, and minors in music and criminal justice, she never thought she'd use her music minor for more than personal development, but she had the opportunity to take over the chancel choir when Stan Bruns decided to retire. Sara has a great love for choral music and loves challenging herself and the choir with new music. She continues with Stan's mottos of "everyone is welcome" and "choir rehearsals are Thursday nights at 7:30!" But she also adds her own: "don't tell me you can't read music!"  

Pastor Dago and his congregation meet in the sanctuary at Rupert United Methodist at 2:00 p.m. each Sunday.

Dear Family of Christ:
I would like to introduce myself so that you can know a little more about me. I was born in Nayarit, Mexico. I attended elementary school at the Mariano Ruiz General School. I also attended high school in Ninos Heros. I went to Chula Vista, California to get my pastor's degree. I also went to earn my Bachelor of Technology degree at Catch A Flame Ministry Inc. College in Santa Ana California, in liberation and Demonology Idaho. On February 11, 1992, in Idaho, I was a Northwest Chaplain. In that same year of December 28, 1992, I was ordained International Pentecostal #Certificate 113289. In 2004 I was ordained Pastor of Roca Firme Centro Milagros. In 2023 I joined with the United Methodist Church of Rupert, Idaho. We came together to rescue lives with the gospel, help others who are less fortunate. We both have services in the same location.

Me gustaria presentarme para que conozcas un poco mas sobre mi. Naci en Nayarit, Mexico. Estudie la primaria en la Escuela General Mariano Ruiz. Tambien asisti a la escuela secundaria en Ninos Heros. En 2023 me uni a la Iglesia Metodista Un ida de Rupert, Idaho, nos unimos para rescatar vidas con el evangelio. Ayudar a otras personas meno afortunadas. Ambos tenemos servicios en la misma ubicacion.
